• May 25, 2016 · Dear Erik, I am running several Matlab versions (2016a, 2016b and 2017a) and the "strange behavior" is that the arrows are distorted in both, length and shape of the arrow head. Meanwhile I noticed that calling "arrow" in pointwise fashion (in a for-loop) and debugging the code step by step is causing the problem.
• This MATLAB file was created to plot the position of a sound source in 2D. This function takes in the calculated position of the sound source (as found with getPositionAVS.m) as well as the positions of each sensor and the real position of the sound.

• How can I do a vector plot with lines instead of arrows. I tried FLOWLINE but the spacing between the flow line is not uniform and they overlap each other in some areas giving a somewhat blurry plot.

• Thanks for helping that unfortunately created one vector connecting multiple points. Ideally I would like to generate one 3D vector arrow for all points in a 3d scatter. I have attached a diagram of one vector arrow added artificially to show an example of the desired end result.
In the code we first create a vector for x and evaluate the three functions we wish to plot. Next we create a figure window with figure function and immediately after we use the command hold on - this tells MATLAB to put all of the plots from this point forward into the current figure window.
To plot the vector field for y1 going from a1 to b1 with a spacing of d1 and y2 going from a2 to b2 with a spacing of d2 use vectfield(f,a1:d1:b1,a2:d2:b2). The command vectfieldn works in the same way, but produces arrows which all have the same length.
Matlab can plot vector fields using the quiver command, which basically draws a bunch of arrows. This is not completely obvious though. First we have to set up a grid of points for which to plot arrows. In other words we have to tell it for which x and y to actually draw the vector field. Quiver plotting arrow length. As with most MATLAB functions there's a lot of things we can do with mesh grid, but we're just going to create a square grid for now, cause that's really simple. So we'll pass it a vector, to ... An example of putting multiple curves on a plot Here are the MATLAB commands to create a symbol plot with the data generated by adding noise to a known function. The original function is drawn with a solid line and the function plus noise is plotted with open circles.
